Dimity chases (frozen) waterfalls with Kimber Cross, an ice climber and alpinist who began climbing mountains and ice in her late 20’s. Despite having a limb deficit—she was born without a right hand—Kimber has set records on Mount Rainer/Tahoma and continues to push her limits.
The two talk about:
- how Kimber’s kindergarten class usually reacts to her hand;
- her childhood sports pursuits and role models (hello, fast pitch softball!)
- why trust is such an important element of climbing, and how she builds it;
- how she trains for her adventures;
- and her impressive pull-up record (hint: it’s more than 30!).
